KAP AAN — a local Afrikaans slang term meaning “keep going” or “push on” — is often used to motivate someone to start or keep pursuing an idea. It’s the kind of phrase you might hear when a plan is taking shape and someone says, “Kap aan!” to set it in motion.
For us, it’s more than a saying. Growing up, whenever life felt overwhelming, our founder Shafeeqah’s father would tell her, “Kap aan, my kind, kap net aan” — keep going, my child, just keep going. Those words became the heartbeat of her life and the inspiration behind KAP AAN.
They remind us to embrace challenges, trust the process, and keep moving forward — whether we’re tackling a steep climb on the mountain, navigating a tricky trail, or taking the first step toward a new adventure. Today, KAP AAN creates meaningful outdoor experiences that blend movement, exploration, and connection. From guided hikes and trail runs to multi-day retreats and custom trail camps, we design adventures that challenge, inspire, and restore. As professional mountain guides, we bring deep knowledge of South Africa’s diverse landscapes and a commitment to safety, inclusivity, and sustainability — ensuring every journey is as memorable as the destination.
